My new favorite pistachios? The amazingly delicious ones from Setton Farms. They are incredibly fresh and flavorful--this company is new to me but rapidly became my new favorite when I tried their pistachios. Their site also features some nice recipes. (Setton Farms - tray by Bags of Love)
The absolute most memorable pistachio sweet in recent memory? Absolutely the pistachio baklava from the Balkan Bakery in Abingdon, VA. What looks like a Chinese egg roll at first glance is actually a delicately rolled pastry creation with ground pistachios, honey, and a lovely rosewater syrup. It will make your fingers sticky, but your mouth oh so happy. I really, truly recommend this place. (The Balkan Bakery)
